Begin with the affected functions
Describe opening, locking, blade operation and starting recognition separately. Mention a drop, moisture, battery change or opening of the case before the problem began. The sequence helps explain the condition of the key now.
A broken shell does not automatically mean the electronics are damaged. Equally, a tidy outer case does not establish that the internal parts work. Suitability and repair options should be checked before ordering a part.
Shell replacement is different from a new key
For a cracked case, worn button or folding mechanism problem, ask which original components may be retained. Moving components into another shell is a different job from preparing an additional electronic key.
If the car still starts, mention it even when the remote buttons fail. The part should match the key and system, rather than being chosen only by a badge or button count.

Tell us whether all buttons are affected or only one, and what happens with another key in the same conditions. Starting recognition and remote operation should not be treated as the same symptom.
There is no need to choose reprogramming as the solution in advance. The enquiry may involve a battery, button, case, key electronics or the vehicle response. Explain recent changes as well.
Describe a key or remote that is not workingBroken blades and keys exposed to water
Keep the remaining parts and send clear photographs. If part of the blade remains inside a lock, identify that lock. Do not push the other piece into it or try to join a blade in order to turn it.
If the key was wet or washed, say so even if the outside is dry. Avoid heating or unfamiliar disassembly. The appropriate handling and use depend on the key and its vehicle instructions.

The cost depends on the damaged part, required components and agreed testing. Repairing a shell, making a blade and addressing an electronic key are not interchangeable quotes. Ask what is retained and what is replaced.
Clarify arrival, parts, compatibility work and checks. Ask what warranty applies to that particular repair. The three-month replacement-key warranty does not automatically describe every repair or separately supplied component.
Compare the scope of car key workCheck the repaired functions with the vehicle
Test the affected functions and anything included in the order, such as buttons, folding blade, opening or starting. If another key is prepared, ask what should also be checked on the existing key.
If this is your only key, you can discuss a separate spare. Send the vehicle details and problem description to Key Replacement to confirm suitable work, availability and price before booking.
