Locate both parts of a broken blade
Say whether the detached section is in your hand or remains in the door or ignition lock. Describe the car’s access and starting status separately. Do not keep applying force to a damaged blade or push objects into the lock.
If you have both pieces, retain and photograph them in good light. Their condition is relevant to inspection but does not guarantee a repair method. A fragment in a lock and a damaged key body are distinct issues to discuss.
Describe the housing and its contents
If the remote shell has cracked or opened, explain whether the buttons remain in position and whether anything fell out. Keep loose components together. The visible housing does not establish the condition of the internal identification or electronic parts.
Report what you have successfully done since the damage: unlocking, locking or starting the car. A replacement shell, electronic repair and replacement key are different proposals. Ask what must be inspected before choosing among them rather than ordering by appearance alone.
Checking and repairing a damaged car keyReport weak or inconsistent response without guessing
If the remote works occasionally, say whether every button behaves that way or only one. Mention a recent battery replacement, impact or liquid exposure. A report of the precise action helps distinguish causes that look similar from outside.
Separate remote behaviour from mechanical entry and engine starting. A car that opens is not necessarily starting normally, and a button fault need not affect every key function. Explain any message shown and whether a known spare behaves differently.
Damage, a spare and total loss are separate situations
A broken key is still available for inspection, unlike a situation where every key has vanished. Say whether another working key exists and can attend. Its availability may make it possible to plan a spare or a narrower repair enquiry.
If no key is available, state that along with the car model and year. Do not describe the request simply as duplication. Ask what verification and vehicle access are needed before replacement after loss can be assessed for this particular vehicle.
Planning an additional car keyAsk what the proposal includes
Before confirming a Holon visit, ask what action is suggested from your account and what remains subject to inspection. Check whether the proposal concerns the housing, blade, components or a complete replacement and which functions are included.
Bring retained pieces, any spare and the information requested during coordination. Test the agreed result beside the vehicle and keep the job record. Ask about coverage for the particular work supplied; availability and the final task are confirmed before travel.
Defining the work before requesting a priceCheck active access near roadworks in Holon
NTA publishes Green Line construction updates for Holon with affected streets and work dates. If your car is near works, consult the relevant current notice and check the actual approach. An earlier closure may not describe the route available today.
Send the active gate and the street from which it can be reached, especially when the recorded address leads to a blocked side. A contact beside the car can confirm the meeting point. Road information supports planning but does not confirm locksmith availability.
