Make a useful handover inventory
Lay out everything supplied: button remote, folding key, card or separate blade. A complete appearance does not establish that an item works as a backup. Ask when it was last used and which functions were tested beside the car.
Mention any key the previous user has yet to deliver. Keep old faulty keys, their parts and the information supplied about them until assessment. An inventory helps define the request but does not replace compatibility checks or verification of your connection to the vehicle.
Check functions rather than just counting remotes
Record what you actually saw work. Door opening does not establish starting, and a single successful button press does not describe the key’s full condition. Ask how each key will be checked and which role it is intended to serve.
Report damage or intermittent operation. Repair may be worth assessing before replacement. Describe the response rather than assuming programming is the cause; the key, car and failed function need to be considered together.
Assessing a damaged key supplied with a carDefine the purpose of a spare
If one working key was supplied, specify whether you need full driving functions, a second driver’s key or mechanical access only. These are different requests. Share the model, year and ignition type, and ask for a quote that names the included functions.
Check whether the existing key and car must be present and which handover tests are included. Test the agreed functions and keep the spare separately. An authorized user should know where it is and be able to reach it when needed.
Planning an additional key when one worksAsk about a key that was not handed over
Explain any uncertainty about missing keys or the number previously issued. Ask what can be checked about electronic authorizations for this car and what the proposed work covers. A new key does not automatically resolve every question about previous keys.
Distinguish starting recognition, remote operation and mechanical blade access. Changing one does not necessarily change all three. Ask which keys must be present and how the result will be recorded; the assessment does not establish the car’s history or guarantee cancellation of every unknown key.
Key-system compatibility and authorizationsAgree on authorization, scope and price
When a seller or previous user and a recipient are involved, decide who requests and approves the work and stays for testing. Ask privately which documents are needed to verify the connection to the car. Mention an unfinished handover so authorization can be checked appropriately.
The quote should state what will be checked and supplied. Availability in Yehud and suitability for the car are checked before departure; changes are agreed before work. Key Replacement’s three-month warranty applies to replacement keys only. Keep the work details with the updated key inventory.
Identify the car park and vehicle entrance in Yehud
Yehud-Monosson’s 2025 traffic-sign and road-marking booklet distinguishes the BIG car park and the Tel Yehud car park at Tortchin. For a car-park meeting, give the exact name and vehicle entrance rather than just “parking in Yehud.” Key tests require access to the car itself.
Add a row, zone or landmark and arrange who waits beside the vehicle. The booklet helps distinguish locations but does not replace current signs or actual access conditions. Update any location change before departure and ensure the car, keys and relevant people are available.
