The linked Nissan manuals also describe a mechanical key inside the Intelligent Key. For a service inquiry, distinguish mechanical access from a key recognized for starting.
Say explicitly if the key opens the door but the car will not start. Nonworking buttons with successful starting provide different information that is equally important to report.
Describe working door access and a starting problemNissan keys do not all use one battery
The US Altima 2024 manual specifies CR2032, while the US LEAF 2015 manual specifies CR2025. These are examples for particular models, not a battery recommendation for every Nissan in Israel. Check the actual remote and appropriate vehicle manual.
If the issue began after a battery change, report which battery was fitted and what worked before. Do not assume every unresponsive remote needs reprogramming.
What to check before changing a remote batteryAn extra Nissan key when a working key remains
Say whether your key unlocks, locks and starts, and what you want the backup to provide. A partial key and a full remote may be different solutions. A photo and key details help alongside the model and year.
Check the quote’s scope and what will be tested with the car at completion. Keep the additional key separately.
Prepare and test an extra key before storing itThe only key is lost, or the car does not respond?
A lost key and a fault in an existing key need different descriptions. Mention any key held by a family member. If a second key also gets no response, report this instead of automatically ordering a new remote.
For an electric vehicle, also report the display message and anything that still responds. A key inquiry does not establish that every lack of response is caused by the key.
Key and access problems in an electric vehicleDetails for arranging attendance
Send the Nissan’s details, location and a short account of what happened. Mention a car park or restricted access if relevant.
Mobile service availability and price depend on the vehicle and required work. These are checked before scheduling, so describe whether the need is a spare, a lost-key replacement or a fault in the key you still have.
