Different functions on the same Captur card
Renault’s Captur manual for 3 March–30 November 2025 on its international English portal describes card and hands-free entry according to equipment. It says locking does not occur if a door or boot is not properly closed. These details concern that edition, rather than every Captur in Israel.
Separate button unlocking, walk-away locking and starting. Record whether the problem followed loading or a passenger leaving with the bag containing the card. That sequence helps focus the enquiry.
Detection messages and battery messages differ
That edition separates low-card-battery warnings from messages about starting conditions. Instructions to press a pedal or change gearbox position are not the same as an undetected-card message. Give the complete wording, even if it appears briefly.
For E-Tech Full Hybrid versions described in the manual, READY indicates that the vehicle is switched on. If your Captur is hybrid, report whether READY appeared and what differed from normal use. Engine silence alone is insufficient to describe a key fault.
Card battery or another driver’s backup
For a battery warning, begin with identifying the card and suitable battery. A wet or broken card, or one that still fails after battery work, needs damage and remaining functions described. The Captur name alone cannot identify a battery or card to order.
If the card works and you need another driver’s key, specify the backup functions. Keep a spare accessible at home, separately from the travelling card, and check it still works before relying on it.
Card in the boot or every key lost?
The checked manual warns about leaving the card in the boot when starting with the boot open. During loading, know where it is before closing up and leaving. If it is inside a locked car, say so at the start.
- Card inside the locked car: state its known location
- Card with another driver: check whether it is available
- Complete loss: say no key can be brought
- Damaged card: report whether unlocking and starting work
Booking and everyday-use checks
Send the year, powertrain and a card photo if you have it. For a spare, agree locking, unlocking, starting and hands-free access checks where fitted. Test the old card too, especially if another driver will keep it.
