Say whether you turn a key or use a start button, and whether lock and unlock buttons are required. A request for mechanical door access differs from a full backup for starting and remote operation.
Smart key compatibility must cover the vehicle system and agreed functions. A key photo helps, but does not replace the vehicle details.
What does the mechanical backup provide?
The Kia manual reviewed describes a mechanical key for access when remote operation is unavailable, for example with a weak key battery. How to use it and lock the vehicle depends on the particular car; follow the appropriate manual.
Mechanical backup access is not necessarily a backup for starting recognition. Clarify each part’s role so that an important function is not missing when you need it.
What the blade and electronic recognition each provideA Kia remote that works intermittently
Report whether the issue occurs only in one location, after a drop or after changing the battery. Kia’s manual discusses communication interference and comparison with another key. Similar conditions help describe the problem without deciding its cause.
If neither key gets a response, say so. If only one fails, identify the functions that are missing and those that still work.

Before ordering, check whether the part is intended for your exact system and what is needed to use it. A new key, a used key and a casing without electronics are different purchases. Ask about the part and its compatibility before paying.
If you have already bought a key, send photos and any seller or part details available. Programming every separately purchased remote cannot be promised remotely.
Check the result before the work is finished
Test the agreed functions: unlocking, locking, starting recognition and any additional functions included. Check the previous key too, and clarify whether key authorizations changed.
The linked manufacturer manual covers a particular version. Supported key counts and remote functions can differ between cars. Send your Kia’s details and requirements to Key Replacement to check the options.
